Kibo, the “MOLTEN” Cheese Cake

Have i mentioned that i’m a cheese lover??? Hmmm.... i would say that i’m more like a cheese addict than cheese lover. I love every food which using cheese as their ingredient, especially if it’s a bread or cake. I really like the cheesy taste which comes in every bite.

Nowadays, many Japanese food restaurant open their branch in Jakarta. Starts from the savory food such as Curry House Coco Ichibanya until one of the most dessert brand in Japan, Pablo Cheese Cake. I would confess, all food in Japan are really delicious. I’ve been traveling to some countries, but none of them can beat the delicacy of food in Japan. This “thing” make some people start a new business by making a new brand of Japanese food (mostly dessert) to fulfill the enthusiasm of Japanese food lover. Between many newly opened Japanese dessert in Jakarta, there is one “brand” which looks very tempting, and made me curious about that. It’s Kibo, the “MOLTEN” cheese cake.

Last week, after had a very delicious lunch at Greyhound Cafe, i saw one of Kibo’s stall at Grand Indonesia. It’s located at Sky Bridge Level 3A and it’s easy to spotted. Kibo is a soft cheese cake, with a melting cheese inside. They have 2 size (original and mini) with 5 delicous flavors, original, salted egg, green tea, choco cheese, and banana choco cheese. Since it’s my first try with Kibo, i decided to buy every flavor in mini size. I want to try all the flavors!!!

What makes me interested to try this dessert???
1. It’s a Japanese dessert.
2. It’s made from cheese which is my favorite ingredient for food.
3. It’s a MOLTEN cheese cake. Can you imagine a melted cheese, made as a sweet tooth???? It must be yummmm...

How’s the taste???
Delicous!!! It’s really soft and creamy. Every flavor has a strong taste of cheese which i like the most. However, between many flavor, my favorite is the original one. Because in this flavor, i could enjoy the delights of the cheese, without any other flavor mix.

First time i knew about Greyhound is when i was traveling to Thailand. I got a recommendation from Ivan’s cousin, to try this popular cafe in Bangkok. Hear about a good food is like a poison for me. When i had a chance, i decided to give it a try and it didn’t disappoint me at all. The food was great, especially the chicken wings, which is their recommended dish. However, at that time i wasn’t familiar with Thai food. So i just ordered the pasta which also taste good as well. It’s definitely be my favorite cafe and i always visit it every time i had a chance.

Around 3 months ago, i just heard that Greyhound Cafe has opened a new branch in Jakarta. Being located at the West Lobby of Grand Indonesia, it becomes their first branch in town. Knowing about this good news made me can’t wait to try their food. Finally, i had a chance to visit it last month, and it's an excitement for me.

Greyhound Cafe has a very spacious dining place. With a modern interior design, it's so cozy and perfect for hang out. They don't use any low light (like most cafe do), so it's also suitable for you who want to visit it with kids. Love this place!

Thai Iced Tea with Milk - IDR 45K

I came there for an early lunch at the weekday. We became their second guest, and it’s an advantage for us. We don’t need to wait for a long time only for get a table, which always happenned on the weekend.

Pad Thai with Fresh Prawns IDR 95K

I found out they have a lot of menu, and everything looks tasty. Even though i only tried some of them, but overall i like it. They have a great taste, especially with the Thai food. Their pad thai is the best pad thai i ever ate. It has a perfect sweet and sour flavor at the same bite. It's so yumm...

Beside that, also ordered fried rice and pasta as well. These 2 dishes also become my favorite because they have a super yummy bacon in it. The bacon was very thin and crispy. Trust me, these bacon is very tasty and probably this is the best bacon. Must try if you're a bacon addict, like me.

Greyhound Famous Fried Chicken Wings IDR 65K

The last savory food for today, it's the one and only, the famous fried chicken wings by Greyhound. Honestly, before i visit it, i was hoping their chicken wings will taste as good as in Bangkok. But, it turns out Greyhound Jakarta has a more delicious fried chicken wings than in Bangkok. The outside part was very crispy, while the meat inside is so tender. I only ate some of them, while Aurelia was eating that all! It's the first time she ate chicken wings that way.

Chocolate Banana Crepe Cake IDR 62K

Who likes the combination between banana and chocolate?? Well, it's my family favorite combo. Lookin' at this kind of dessert make me ordered it, even our tummy was full already. But, like what people say, "Always there's a room for dessert".  First time i saw the glazed on the top of the cake, i thought it's gonna be a hot dessert. But it's not!! This crepe cake is a cold dessert, which layered with banana, custard, and fresh cream. It also has a chocolate sauce, which make it more delicious. It might sound too sweet, but i would say it's not too sweet at all. Instead, it has a perfect sweetness, and also perfect to ended this lunch.

After all, i would said my first visit to Greyhound Cafe in Jakarta didn’t dissappoint me at all. Will come back again for sure, to try another delicous dishes that they have.

Fook Yew : Shanghai Bistro & Bubble Tea Lab - Grand Indonesia

It's been a long time since Fook Yew opened the first branch at Gandaria City, i really wanted to try their food. Why? Because Fook Yew is a restaurant under Ismaya Dining Co. As i know, all Ismaya Dining's restaurant have a delicious food. However, because of some reasons, i couldn't go to Gandaria City, and that means i couldn't try to eat at Fook Yew at that time.

Last week, i went to Grand Indonesia. I just knew that Fook Yew also has a branch there. Without took a long time, i decided to have a dinner at Fook Yew.

The restaurant has a unique interior. They use the Chinese decoration such as red bird cage and big "lucky" cat. I felt like eat at Chinese traditional restaurant.

I looked at the menu, and i saw that they're selling various Chinese food, such as noodles, dim sum, and some street food. I asked to the waitress about their favorite menu. And she told me it was Sheng Jian Bao .

Sheng Jian Bao Sweet Corn Egg Yolk IDR 36k

Sheng Jian Bao is a pan fried bun. They only fry the bottom of the bun. So it becomes soft at the top, and crispy at the bottom. They have savoury and sweet flavor as well. I ordered the sweet bun with sweet corn egg yolk as the filling. To eat this bun, you need to pierce the top with chopsticks, and let the fillings come out. It's almost like eating Xiao Long Bao. 

The fillings taste really good. I really like the sweet egg yolk with some corn at the inside. Yumm..

Chrysanthemum Chinese Tea

For the main course, i ordered Macau Fried Seafood Noodle, and Ivan ordered Seafood Hor Fun. Both with the Egg Sauce. They have a very big portion. First time we saw the food, we though that we couldn't finish this food. However, the egg sauce was so delicious. The seafood also cooked very well. At the end, we could finish that all :P

We also still ordered another food for share. Those are Shanghai Classic Wo Tie and Sweet Butter Hot Bun. Shanghai Classic Wo Tie contains minced beef and string beans for the filling. They also give a dipping sauce for the wo tie. I tried a bite, and i really like the taste of the dipping sauce. It's sour, and there's a garlic taste which i really like it. However, the skin was too thick and dry.  For the Sweet Butter Hot Bun, sadly i have no comment for that. I couldn't eat that anymore. My tummy was really full at that time.

Overall, there's no regret to have a dinner at Fook Yew. Their food was acceptable for me who doesn't like to eat Chinese Food. No wonder their restaurant always full at the weekend. The price also not too expensive. Worth with the foods. Below, i'll share some pictures of their menu.

Curry House CoCo ICHIBANYA

Hey there!! Who likes to eat Japanese Curry? Well, if you do, i have a good news for you. Finally, the famous "CoCo Ichibanya" Curry House has opened in Jakarta.

I like to eat all kinds of curry, Indian, Japanese, i like every food that cooked with a lot of spices. But not for my hubby!! He never like curry especially Japanese Curry. Only at "CoCo Ichibanya" , he wants to eat Japanese Curry. First time he ate this curry at CoCo Ichibanya - Siam Paragon, Bangkok. He felt in love at the first bite. But he still doesn't want to eat Japanese Curry except at CoCo Ichibanya. So, when i told him that it opened at Grand Indonesia, we went to eat the best Japanese Curry.

The place is big enough and the interior is just simple with a bright light and wood furniture. But i like it, makes me feel comfortable and it also good for kids.

This time i ordered Lighltly Crisped Chicken Curry with 150g rice portion (IDR 60k). I chose Level 1 for the spiciness of the curry.

The curry taste really good, and the chicken also cooked perfectly. First time I thought it was chicken katsu. But it's not. They don't use any flour to coat the chicken. The thing that i liked from this chicken is the texture, the crispy skin, but it's not dry at the inside. Perhaps because they use thigh fillets. The sauce is really tasty. But i didn't feel spicy enough at level 1. Maybe next time i'll try on level 2 / level 3.

Actually, i wanted to try the Omelette Curry. But the waitress told me that i couldn't customize the rice size at Omelette Curry. And i thought 250g of rice is too much for me. So i told my hubby to order the Omelette Curry. Because i know he really likes omelette.

Chicken Cutlet Omelette Curry (IDR 70k)

When it came, i got tempted by the omelette. I tried a little and feel amazed with that. The omelette cooked perfectly. Its texture is also very soft and not dry. It is very appropriate mixed with curry sauce. 

I also ordered Set A (IDR 25) which contains the beverage (i chose Iced Lemon Tea) and Mini Salad.

I never thought the food that come with package will taste good. But this salad surprisingly so delicious. I don't what dressing that they used for the salad. First time i think it just a simple mayonnaise. But when i ate that, i feel it's not mayonnaise. It's not as sour as a dressing at Caesar Salad. It has the sweet "thing" and its perfectly match with the fresh vegetables.

They also have kids menu. This is another thing that i liked from CoCo Ichibanya. They are very kids friendly. 

Children Curry (IDR 40k)

Kids menu comes with the package of rice, chicken karaage, sausages, french fries, and fresh salads. They will give "Mild" curry sauce, but you also can change it. They actually serve food with curry sauce that was poured. But the waitress told me some people said the sauce was too salty. So i asked her to separate the curry sauce. You also will get some jelly and a cup of juice  (orange / apple) at kids menu.

Overall, i like all the foods here. The price also not too expensive, worth it with the food. My daughter also like to eat here because she has her own meal. Even my hubby asked me to come back again. He never get bored with this Japanese Curry.
