Curry House CoCo ICHIBANYA

Hey there!! Who likes to eat Japanese Curry? Well, if you do, i have a good news for you. Finally, the famous "CoCo Ichibanya" Curry House has opened in Jakarta.

I like to eat all kinds of curry, Indian, Japanese, i like every food that cooked with a lot of spices. But not for my hubby!! He never like curry especially Japanese Curry. Only at "CoCo Ichibanya" , he wants to eat Japanese Curry. First time he ate this curry at CoCo Ichibanya - Siam Paragon, Bangkok. He felt in love at the first bite. But he still doesn't want to eat Japanese Curry except at CoCo Ichibanya. So, when i told him that it opened at Grand Indonesia, we went to eat the best Japanese Curry.

The place is big enough and the interior is just simple with a bright light and wood furniture. But i like it, makes me feel comfortable and it also good for kids.

Selfie before eat ^^

This time i ordered Lighltly Crisped Chicken Curry with 150g rice portion (IDR 60k). I chose Level 1 for the spiciness of the curry.

Lightly Crisped Chicken Curry
The curry taste really good, and the chicken also cooked perfectly. First time I thought it was chicken katsu. But it's not. They don't use any flour to coat the chicken. The thing that i liked from this chicken is the texture, the crispy skin, but it's not dry at the inside. Perhaps because they use thigh fillets. The sauce is really tasty. But i didn't feel spicy enough at level 1. Maybe next time i'll try on level 2 / level 3.

Actually, i wanted to try the Omelette Curry. But the waitress told me that i couldn't customize the rice size at Omelette Curry. And i thought 250g of rice is too much for me. So i told my hubby to order the Omelette Curry. Because i know he really likes omelette.
Chicken Cutlet Omelette Curry (IDR 70k)
When it came, i got tempted by the omelette. I tried a little and feel amazed with that. The omelette cooked perfectly. Its texture is also very soft and not dry. It is very appropriate mixed with curry sauce

I also ordered Set A (IDR 25) which contains the beverage (i chose Iced Lemon Tea) and Mini Salad.

I never thought the food that come with package will taste good. But this salad surprisingly so delicious. I don't what dressing that they used for the salad. First time i think it just a simple mayonnaise. But when i ate that, i feel it's not mayonnaise. It's not as sour as a dressing at Caesar Salad. It has the sweet "thing" and its perfectly match with the fresh vegetables.

They also have kids menu. This is another thing that i liked from CoCo Ichibanya. They are very kids friendly.

Children Curry (IDR 40k)
Kids menu comes with the package of rice, chicken karaage, sausages, french fries, and fresh salads. They will give "Mild" curry sauce, but you also can change it. They actually serve food with curry sauce that was poured. But the waitress told me some people said the sauce was too salty. So i asked her to separate the curry sauce. You also will get some jelly and a cup of juice  (orange / apple) at kids menu.

Overall, i like all the foods here. The price also not too expensive, worth it with the food. My daughter also like to eat here because she has her own meal. Even my hubby asked me to come back again. He never get bored with this Japanese Curry.

[Macau - Hong Kong] Day 10 : Bye Hong Kong

August 8th, 2014

This is the last a day for our holiday. At 7 pm we checked out from Regal Airport Hotel, and walked to the HKIA. There's an indoor bridge to connect the airport from the hotel. You also can take the trolley to put your luggage from the hotel.

Hong Kong International Airport
First, we checked in our luggage and get the boarding pass. After that we had a breakfast at Crystal Jade restaurant. I thought they have the same menu with Crystal Jade at Harbour City. But they haven't. They only have porridge, and a few kinds of dim sum and wonton noodle. They will serve the complete menu after 10 am.

We didn't have much time at HKIA. After breakfast we had to go to inside the airplane.. Bye Hong Kong :(

We used Tiger Airways for our flight back. So we needed to transit again at Changi Airport. Arrived at Changi Airport, we had lunch at the food court. I saw a long queue in front of the Bak Kut Teh and Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle. I felt curious with Tai Hwa's pork meatballs (I'm a big fan of meatballs ^^). So i ordered it for my lunch. I didn't try the noodle. Because i saw it contains offal.
Tai Hwa Meatballs Soup
I like the meatballs so much. They are firm yet springy when you chew it. And the broth also taste good.

Finished with our lunch, we just walked around and waiting for our flight. I didn't feel bore to wait at Changi Airport. They have a lot of stores selling good stuff such as chocolate, make up, perfume, etc. Even they have Victoria's Secret store.

Victoria's Secret at Changi Airport
So that's the end of our trip to Macau and Hong Kong. I like the situation at Macau and Hong Kong, especially when i went to local places. Just 1 thing that I didn't like from this trip : hot weather!! It ruined the plan that i have made before. Maybe next time i'll go to Hong Kong again, but not at summer.

[Macau - Hong Kong] Day 9 : Regal Airport Hotel & Citygate Outlets

August 7th, 2014

Today we will move to Regal Airport Hotel. Tomorrow we have a morning flight, and we don't want to rush to go to airport from Tsim Sha Tsui. So we booked a room in Regal Airport Hotel, because the hotel is connected with the airport.

To go to the Regal Airport Hotel, we rented a car with the driver (contact me to ask his number). He can pick up us from / to the airport. I told him to pick up us at 2pm. That means i still have a half day to stroll at Tsim Sha Tsui. And we decided to go to Harbour City.

Last time take a picture at Canton Road
We wouldn't shopping again today. We just walked around (and took some pictures) while we're waiting for the driver.

When we walked around, we saw a long queue in front of Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao restaurant. In my opinion, long queue means yummy food!!! ^^ So i decided to have a lunch there.

Xiao Long Bao
La Mian with Fried Pork

Overall, the foods quite delicious. The price also not too expensive, about HKD50 for a bowl of La Mian. Maybe that's the reason why people like to eat there.

After lunch, it almost 2 pm. It means we have to go back to hotel. While we were walking, we saw Laduree store and tempted to buy :P
Laduree store at Harbour City

The macarons tasted amazing. It's not too sweet and the texture is really good. I tried all the flavors, and i like that all. Especially the Rose Petal flavor. When i ate that, i could feel and smell the rose. I know, it sounds weird to eat macaron with rose flavour. I thought like that at the first time, so i only bought 1 pc of Rose Petal. Not unexpectedly turned out it felt really good.

When we arrived at Guangdong hotel, it turns out the driver was already waiting. We put our luggage into the car, then left the hotel. Bye Tsim Sha Tsui :(

It only took 1 hour to reach Regal Airport Hotel. The hotel is really big, but they don't have a lot of guests. Perhaps because the location is too far from the city.

Regal Airport Hotel lobby

After checked in, we took a shuttle bus to go to Citygate Outlets. Citygate Outlets is the largest outlet mall in Hong Kong. It features more than 80 international brand names that offer year-round discounts of 30 - 70%.  Shop categories include designer fashion, accessories, sports, children's wear, beauty and home accessories. This is a very good place for tourists who only have a short time to shopping.

Actually, we had a plan to go to Ngong Ping with cable car, which the location in front of the Citygate. Unfortunately it's already closed. So we couldn't go to Ngong Ping.

Before we went back, we had a dinner at Food Republic. It's located at 2/F Citygate Outlets. I ate a korean set menu with bulgogi. It tasted good and the price also quite cheap.

Bulgogi

That's the end of our trip in Hong Kong. Tomorrow we have to go to the airport in the morning. See ya~~

[Macau - Hong Kong] Day 8 : Shopping at Causeway Bay part 2 & Mongkok

August 6th, 2014

This trip is almost over. This is the last day i have a full time to shopping at Causeway Bay. But, before we went to Causeway Bay, we bought the famous cookies at Jenny Bakery . At 11 am we went to Causeway Bay and the first place is Times Square. Times Square is one of the famous shopping mall in Causeway Bay area. They always have a great decoration. When i was there, its about "One Piece". So they made a huge pirate ship and put it at the entrance of the mall.

Huge pirate ship from "One Piece"
Getting fat on the 8th day, huh?
Luffy's Hat on The Clock

I didn't shop a lot at Times Square. Just bought some make up and beauty stuff (again!!)

After that, we went to Hysan Place. This mall is not as big as Times Square, but it also not a "mini" mall. I like to shopping in Hysan Place. It looks like a department store. You can find what you want easily with organized floor. If you're looking for Asian designer stores, go to the 4th and 5th floor. You'll found some stores selling stylish clothes such as Daily Dolly, Snidel, Deicy, etc.

If you're a book lover, you have to go to Eslite bookstore in Hysan Place. This bookstore has 3 levels from 8/F -10/F. I wanted to go there but it's almost 4 pm and we had to go to Mongkok. This is the last night we stayed at Guang Dong hotel. And we didn't have another time to go to Mongkok. It should be this night.

First time i stepped out from the MTR Exit,  the thing I saw was a crowd full of people passing by. It's confusing me. We're going to have a dinner, and we chose the first restaurant that we saw. I didn't know the name of that restaurant, because it's written in Cantonese. I can't read Cantonese. But they have a very tasty food. Sorry i can't share too much about our dinner in Mongkok. The crowd made me dizzy and i wasn't in the mood for take a picture.

There are 3 places that i want to go in Mongkok : Ladies Market, New Town Mall @ Argyle Centre, and Fei Jie Hong Kong Style Snack Shop. First, i went to Fei Jie because the location just few steps away from the our place. It's located at Dundas Street. I read the reviews before, and peoples said that Fei Jie has the most delicious street food in Hong Kong. I can see that from the long queue in front of the store. I also followed them to queueing.

As i know, the most delicious food that they sell are squid and pork offal. Unfortunately when my turn, the squid was sold out. And I don't like to eat offal. So i didn't have a chance to try their food :(

After that, we went to Ladies Market. On my way to Ladies Market, i passed a street full with sneakers store. This is totally heaven for sneakers lover. But i'm not. When I just arrived at Ladies Market, suddenly it's raining. Luckily we brought umbrella. But it still didn't make us enjoy our shopping time. We just bought some souvenir and then we went to New Town Mall.

It's little bit hard to found New Town Mall. It doesn't has any banner or sign in front of the building. I asked to local people about the location. Even she don't know that name. She asked me what place was that? So i explained to her it's a "small" shopping mall who sell a cheap women's stuff. Luckily she knew it. So i could found the mall.

I little bit surprised to see the inside. The stores are smaller than in Laforet. Even most of them don't have any store. They just use a table to put the stuff. The clothes are really cheap. But it's not a good quality clothes. Clothing material they use is very bad. I walked to all the floor but i couldn't get a good stuff. Wasting time!!

So we just go back to hotel. I got nothing in Mongkok. If people said Mongkok is a nice place to shopping, for me it's not.

Jenny Bakery at Tsim Sha Tsui

Hello everyone!! At this post, i will share with you about the famous Jenny Bakery in Hong Kong. Before i went to Hong Kong, i've been searching about this bakery. I found that the location is not far from our hotel, which is located in Tsim Sha Tsui. But i couldn't find a place exactly.

First time i walked at Nathan road, i saw many people hold a board / paper written "Jenny Bakery" in front of CKE Shopping mall. Don't ask them and don't trust them!! They are selling a fake Jenny Bakery. And the price also more expensive than the real Jenny Bakery.

Finally i asked a staff at our hotel about the location of Jenny bakery. He told me that the location Is in Mirador Mansion, next to Holiday Inn Golden Mile Hotel. At 9 am,  i went to Mirador Mansion, and hope there would be no long queues in the morning. But i was wrong. The queue was really long although it was raining at that time.

As you can see from the picture above, they're queueing in the heavy rain only for Jenny Bakery. And it's only the half of the queue. I became more curious, how delicious cookies jenny bakery so that people are willing to queue for more than 1 hour in the pouring rain.

When you get in front of the Mirador Mansion, you will be given a queue number as a ticket to buy cookies. You will not be able to buy if you do not have the ticket. 1 ticket can only be used to purchase a maximum of 3 tins of cookies. So, if you want to buy more than 3 tins, you have to wait in line again to get the ticket.

They have 2 kinds of cookies, butter cookies and nuts cookies. And other food they sell is nougat candy. But they were sold out at that time. So i only got 1 tin of nuts cookies and the rest is butter cookies :(

So, how's the taste of this famous cookies??? It's sooo delicious. It's not too sweet, but you can feel the milky flavour from the cookies. The texture also pretty good. Not too hard, but enough for a crunchy cookies. When you're biting, you'll feel it melting in your mouth. I like the nuts cookies more than butter cookies. Actually they both have the same taste. Only if you eat nuts cookies, you can feel the crunchiness of the nuts in the middle of this yummy cookies.

[Macau - Hong Kong] Day 7 : Disneyland Hongkong & MCM at Central

August 5th, 2014

This is the day!!! Finally it's the time to go to Disneyland Hong Kong :D We're going at 9 am from our hotel. We're taking MTR to reach Disneyland and stopped at Sunny Bay station. From Sunny Bay, we took Mickey Mouse train to reach Disneyland. The train is really cute. There are several sculptures of Disney characters like Beauty and The Beast, Mickey Mouse, etc. Unfortunately i couldn't take a picture at that time. It's too crowded, although it's just 10 am. Maybe i have to go earlier next time.

Excuse my bad hair
Thr weather was extremely hot at that time. I just looking for indoor games because we couldn't stand with the hot weather. So we just watched the Golden Mickey show (very good show, don't forget to check the schedule) and Mickey Phillarmagic.

I will not write so much about what i did in Disneyland. Because i'm pretty sure you also will know what should you do at the theme park :)

This minnie mouse shaped ice cream is really delicious. The combination of mango and strawberry ice cream are perfect.

By the way, i wore a loose T-shirt from B+Ab which i bought a day before. This T-shirt has a good color, and the material is also good for the hot summer.

It was 3.30 pm and my daughter felt tired and sleepy. So we just sat at the main street and waiting for the parade. The parade will start at 4pm. And my daughter really like to watch it.

After the parade, i still wanted to see the fireworks show. But it will be start at 8pm , and that means we still have to wait for 3 hours. My daughter wouldn't make it. So we decided to go back. But before that, we bought a waffle with Mickey Mouse face shape.

It has a cute shape, but the taste isn't good. The waffle is really dry and it's hard for me to swallow it. The sauce also not good. Not recommended.

We still had a time for this night, so my hubby and i decided to go to Central. If it's possible, we will go to Lan Kwai Fong. But before that, i want to go to the MCM store at Central, which is the biggest MCM store in Asia.

I spent a lot of time at MCM and after that i felt so sleepy. After played and queued for a long time at Disneyland and chose the bag which fit with the bag charm, i didn't have enough power to walk again and had a night life at Lan Kwai Fong :( So we just go back to hotel, get some rest, and prepare for another shopping time tomorrow.
