[REVIEW] Scarlett Whitening - The Best Local Beauty Brand for Body Care

Hi semuanya... 2021 is here!!! Tahun baru gimana nih perasaan kalian?? Makin semangat, atau udah males karna kelamaan di rumah aja?? Well, I'm feeling more productive this year.. Di post kali ini aku mau nulis tentang sesuatu yang berbeda. Kalau biasanya aku ngereview tentang skin care untuk wajah, kali ini aku mau ngereview tentang body care. Hmmm. Kalian pasti jarang banget ya denger aku review tentang produk perawatan tubuh. Yup, karena aku sendiri emang jarang banget pakai body lotion / body scrub. Sehari - hari aku lebih "care" sama wajah dibandingkan badan. Tapi karena kemarin aku abis liburan ke Bali, dan kulit aku jadi "hancur", I need a special treatment for my skin. Sebenernya ga hancur yang parah banget sih. Kulit aku cuma jadi sedikit lebih tan - which is normal because I just have been to the beach - dan juga jadi agak kering karena dari Bali aku lanjut pergi ke Bromo dimana cuacanya tuh dingin banget. I have a very sensitive skin, jadi kalau kena cuaca dingin, kulit akan jadi gatal dan super kering. Itulah alasan kenapa aku mulai mencari body care yang bagus, dan aku memilih produk dari "Scarlett Whitening".

To be honest, aku udah tau tentang brand ini sebelumnya karena banyak banget yang mereview produk dari Scarlett Whitening. Tapi kebanyakan mereka cuma membahas mengenai body lotion, yang katanya punya efek whitening dan wanginya itu enak banget. Pertama kali mendengar review tentang body lotion dari Scarlett, aku langsung tertarik. Apalagi ada 1 seri which is "Freshy" yang wanginya disebut-sebut mirip sama perfume Jo Malone English Pear & Fresia. Tapi karena aku jarang pake body lotion, so I skipped it. Tapi kali ini, aku baru tahu bahwa Scarlett punya produk lain - bukan cuma lotion aja. Dia juga ada body scrub, shower scrub dan bahkan serum untuk wajah. Karena kali ini aku lebih concern ke "body care", aku cobain semua body care dari Scarlett.

Well, kali ini aku bakalan tulis review mengenai 3 produk body care dari Scarlett yang sudah aku pakai selama kurang lebih 2 minggu. Tapi sebelumnya aku mau kasih tau dulu kenapa aku langsung jatuh cinta sama produk dari Scarlett Whitening.

1. Ukuran botolnya itu pas banget. Ga terlalu besar dan ga terlalu kecil. Jadi gampang dibawa kemana - mana dan ini cocok banget buat aku yang suka traveling.

2. Untuk body lotion, meskipun kemasannya model pump tapi ada safety lock nya. Jadi kalian ga perlu takut akan tertekan saat ditaruh di dalam tas.

Scarlett Whitening Body Lotion "Freshy"

Salah satu alasan kenapa aku ga suka pake body lotion, karena mostly lotion yang aku coba itu bikin lengket setelah dipakai. Meskipun kadang ketemu yang teksturnya ringan, tapi fomulanya sulit diserap oleh kulit. Kalau habis pakai lotion terus kena air, kulit jadi licin - licin berminyak gitu. Tapi body lotion dari Scarlet Whitening ini beda banget sama lotion lainnya. Meskipun teksturnya kental, tapi sangat mudah diratakan dan langsung meresap ke kulit. Yang paling penting, tidak ada rasa lengket sama sekali setelah pemakaian. Yang ada kulit terasa jadi sangat halus.

Efek whitening dari body lotion ini langsung terlihat dalam sekali pemakaian. Yes... It's instant whitening body lotion. Tapi bukan berarti efek whiteningnya hanya sementara lho!! Setelah 2 minggu pemakaian kulit aku jadi lebih cerah dibanding pertama kali. Dan aku ga nyesel pilih wangi "Freshy", karena wanginya memang enak banget. Wanginya tuh persis sama dengan luxurious perfume, but not too strong. Malahan menurut aku wanginya tuh cenderung calming. Aku pakai body lotion ini 2x sehari (pagi dan malam). Di malam hari, efek calming dari wangi body lotion ini terasa banget dan bikin tidur jadi nyenyak.

Scarlett Whitening Shower Scrub "Pomegranate"

Shower scrub ini aku pake sehari - hari sebagai pengganti sabun mandi biasa. Sesuai dengan namanya, tentu saja shower scrub ini mengandung buliran scrub tapi dalam jumlah yang sedikit. Dengan adanya buliran scrub, penggunaan shower scrub saat mandi dapat membersihkan tubuh secara maksimal. Aku pilih yang "pomegranate" (because the color is PINK!!) dan wanginya itu enak loh.. Wanginya tuh manis kaya wangi buah atau permen gitu. Ga nyesel pilih yang ini. Kalau mandi pake shower scrub ini, kulit langsung berasa jadi bersih, tapi ga keset sama sekali. So don't worry!! Penggunaan shower scrub dari Scarlett Whitening setiap hari tidak akan membuat kulit menjadi kering.

Scarlett Whitening Body Scrub "Romansa"

Dalam proses mencerahkan warna kulit, penggunaan body scrub sangatlah penting. Dengan menggunakan body scrub, sel kulit mati pada tubuh akan terangkat dan membuat kulit menjadi tidak terlihat kusam. Scarlett Whitening Body Scrub memiliki kandungan Glutathione dan Vitamin E sehingga tidak hanya mengangkat sel kulit mati, tapi penggunaan body scrub ini juga dapat mencerahkan dan melembabkan kulit. Kalian bisa merasakan efeknya setelah pemakaian body scrub. Kulit tampak lebih bersih, cerah, dan sangat lembut. Tidak keset atau kering seperti pemakaian body scrub pada umumnya.

Ini salah satu hal yang bikin aku enjoy saat body scrubbing.

Jika digunakan secara teratur, semua produk body care dari Scarlett Whitening dapat membantu untuk mencerahkan, melembabkan dan menutrisi kulit. Laneige Eye Sleeping Mask

I don't know whether it's because October is "my month" or maybe because of other reasons, but I feel be more productive start this month. I've finished every job that has been postponed for weeks, and also I started to write my blog again. Actually still there are so many topics to be written on my blog, but I still want to continue write about the eye treatment. If you have read the previous post, you'll see some "recommended products" for eyes. I won't write about another product at this post. Instead, I'll write specifically about one of those product - Laneige Eye Sleeping Mask.

With no doubt, I would say that Laneige is my favorite brand for skincare. The formula on their products really hydrating my dry skin, and its brightening products also really show an improvement. For this good quality products, the price is very reasonable. That's the reason why I always repurchased their products. Lately, I just add their new product into my skincare routine. Yup, as written above it's the eye sleeping mask. 

At the first time I didn't believe with this product. However, since I've tried the lip sleeping mask (which is amazing) and I also have the travel size, I decided to bring it when I was traveling to Canada. As you know, the time difference between Canada and Indonesia is very long and it made my sleeptime really a mess. By that time I used this mask every night, and surprisingly my eyes wasn't look too tired - unlike when I was not sleeping because of Korean drama. Looking at its great result, I decided to add this product into my skincare routine and by the full size.

First impression when I see this product, it looks elegant. The bottle made from glass - not a plastic. When I openned it, I found out the applicator was made from ceramic ball and it has a cooling effect while you use it around your eyes. It's a huge plus point from me because at the travel size, it only use a plastic bottle with pump. While applying the mask around my eyes, I like to give a "little massage" by doing a circle motion with the ceramic ball.

When you use this Laneige Eye Sleeping Mask, do not think it will be show an instant result. Every skincare need a process and you need to use it routinely to see the result. Will I repurchase this product? OF COURSE!! As long as there's no other product with this function, I'll stay with it and put it in my night skincare routine.

Hi beauties, how you've been lately?

Did quarantine make you have enough time to sleep and take a rest at home? Or instead, it made your sleep time being disorganized? For me, this quarantine life really "destroyed" my daily routines especially my bedtime. At the beginning, I slept late because of watching Korean drama. I had no idea what should I do at that time so I just keep watching TV series (especially Korean drama) on Netflix day and night. After couple months, I have a new desire to build a new business. So I was working on it until midnight, and even sometimes I didn't sleep because I had a lot of things to do. At the end, I realized that my eyes looks very tired. I could see my dark circle was getting worse and I hate to see it.

Well, I realized it's not only because of my new "job". As I was saying at the previous post, I didn't take care of my skin at all during quarantine. I was too lazy to do it. But looking at how bad my skin was, I tried to fix it and started to do a complete skincare routine again. But this time, I’m not gonna write about my full skincare routine. Instead, I will write about treatment that I do for my eyes. I have 3 favorite products for tired eyes, and I will write about it completely below.

Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Eye Creme

Eye cream is the most basic treatment for eyes, and it's something that you must use everyday. Eyes is the part of your face that get aging rapidly. Some peoples -including me- got aging signs such as dark circle and fine lines around eyes at the young ages. Therefore, eye cream is as important as other skincare. I’ve tried many eye cream before, and currently I fell for Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Eye Creme. With Vitamin C and collagen as its ingredients, this eye cream can solve any problems around your eyes such as dark circle, wrinkles, and puffiness. It’s really good especially if you don’t have enough time to sleep which cause your eyes looks tired. 

Laneige Eye Sleeping Mask

Have you ever use sleeping mask on your night skincare routine? If you have, you must be know how it is work during your bedtime. I never forget to use sleeping mask twice a week, and I love the result which make my skin very hydrated. Sleeping mask works really well while you sleep and give extra hydration. That's what I got by using Laneige Sleeping Mask at night. Being success with sleeping mask product, Laneige has launched another great products which are Lip Sleeping Mask and Eye Sleeping Mask. I've write the review about how lip sleeping mask solved the problem at my lips, and now I gonna write about eye sleeping mask.

Like other "sleeping mask" products, I use eye sleeping mask while I was sleeping during night time. This product used as a replacement of eye cream. While in the morning I use eye cream, at night I use eye sleeping mask. The thing that makes me love this product is the applicator which is a ceramic ball. It has a cooling sensation, and it's good for tired eyes. When I use it, I put the ceramic ball onto the area around my eyes, and do some circular motion. After that, I also give a little massage with my finger around to help the dark circle disappear. 

Besides the applicator, I'd said that Laneige Eye Sleeping Mask has a good formula in it. I've bought the travel size before and used it while traveling. As you know, while traveling we'd have a less bedtime and it made our eyes looks tired. However, since I used Laneige Eye Sleeping Mask, I didn't have that tired looking eyes during the trip. And that's the reason why I bought the full size and use it every night.

Heimish Hydrogel Eye Patch Bulgarian Rose Water

The last product that I use for my eyes is an eye patch. It comes from Heimish which is a Korean brand for skincare. I never used eye patch before and I didn't even know it was exist. Until I watched a beauty blogger introduced this product at social media and it looks promising. I bought it immediately and tried to use it. Since the first usage, I felt this eye patch was really refreshing my tired eyes. It has a cooling sensation and a rose scent which are relaxing. The formula also really helps to hydrate the skin area around my eyes. Every time my eyes looks very tired, I always use this eye patch and after that it looks much better. Besides, Heimish Hydrogel Eye Patch also contains Niacinamide which usually can be found at brightening skincare. So hopefully, with regular use it can get rid of my dark circles.

Well, that's all the eye treatment that I use lately to help me with the tired eyes problem. But using all those treatment doesn't mean you can sleep late anytime you want. You still need enough time to sleep because when you sleep, your skin also "take a rest" and it will looks fresh -naturally- after you wake up.

Jarte Beauty X Kokumi Creamy Lip Tint [Review and Swatches]

#Dirumahaja selama hampir 4 bulan bikin aku bener - bener jadi cuek dan ga ngurus muka sama sekali. Baik itu skincare atau makeup, I didn't take care of them at all. Karena sebelumnya kan aku makeup cuma saat mau keluar rumah, jadi biar ga keliatan kucel ketemu orang. Review Creamy Lip Tint Jarte Beauty X Kokumi

Pertama kali liat packagingnya, aku langsung suka. Designnya ga mewah, tapi lucu dan sweet banget. Di box nya ada gambar boba dan unicorn khas Kokumi. Untuk kemasan lip tint nya sendiri memiliki warna pink and I love it!!

Seperti yang aku bilang, creamy lip tint ini memiliki 2 warna “Okinawa” dan “ Unicorn”. Okinawa memiliki warna cokelat natural, yang cocok buat dipakai sehari - hari. Kalau kalian mau yang agak cerah, kalian bisa pilih “Unicorn” yang memiliki warna agak kemerahan, tapi hasilnya tetap natural. Pokoknya warnanya top banget deh. Cocok untuk warna kulit wanita Indonesia.

Pertama kali aku swatch lip tint ini di tangan, aku agak shock karena texture nya beda banget sama liquid lip color aku lainnya. Texture nya itu bener - bener ringan banget, dan gampang di blend. Akhirnya aku coba di bibir aku dan hasilnya bagus banget. Mau dipake full di bibir dan dioles berkali - kali juga dia ga gumpal. Jadi ga kelihatan tebal dan natural banget hasilnya.

Hal lain yang aku suka dari creamy lip tint ini adalah formulanya yang ga bikin bibir kering sama sekali. Kalau kalian uda baca blog aku sebelumnya, kalian pasti tau bahwa bibir aku kering banget. Dan aku harus pake Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask tiap malam, supaya besok pagi bisa pake liquid lip color dengan hasil bibir yang halus. Tapi biasanya, setelah pakai liquid lip color seharian, sorenya bibir aku jadi pecah - pecah lagi. But it’s not happening when I used creamy lip tint dari Jarte Beauty. Seharian pake ini, bibir aku tetep halus.

Selain itu, lip tint ini juga lumayan awet. Meskipun ga “maskproof”, tapi tetep oke kok. Di atas adalah foto aku setelah 7 jam pake Okinawa lip tint. Masih keliatan kan warnanya? Meskipun uda mulai pudar, tapi masih wajar sih. Secara selama 7 jam itu aku makan minum, dan pake masker terus. Pokoknya creamy lip tint ini recommended banget deh. Ga nyesel belinya. Bikin makin cinta sama produk - produk Indonesia. Anyway, harga lip tint ini IDR 139.000 , dan menurut aku worth it banget untuk kualitas yang sebagus ini. 

What to eat in Bangkok - Part 4

Welcome to the last part of this food guide in Bangkok!

Actually we should be have 5 days trip in Bangkok. However since my flight got cancelled, so I bought new flight tickets and back to my country one day earlier. (You can read more about my travel experience during pandemic at this post). We chose Garuda Indonesia to took as back for safety reason, so we departed from Suvarnabhumi Airport - Bangkok. At this airport, there's one restaurant that we love the most, and it's always be a mandatory for us to dine in there even we're just having a short layover. If you want to know more about this place, keep reading this post until finish because I'll write completely about the 4th day in Bangkok - or we could said “What to eat at Suvarnabhumi Airport?”

Day 4 : Suvarnabhumi Airport

Asian Corner

    It's not the first time for us to be at Suvarnabhumi Airport, and believe it or not, we have our favorite restaurant here. It is Asian Corner. We even remember the location of this restaurant exactly, where everything looks the same here. It is located at Concourse D, after you pass immigration check. If you just having a transit at Suvarnabhumi Airport you also can visit this place. I've tried some of their dishes and they are delicious. Even I'd said it's too good for a standard of airport food. 

    However, in between many options, we have our favorite meal. It's a set of rice, tom yum goong (prawn), and fried (omelet) egg. It looks like just an ordinary meal, but it's not. The tom yum has a tasty soup and it also comes with medium size prawn. It's really good to eat the soup together with rice. But what makes it better was the egg. It was the best fried egg that we ever had. We never found any fried egg taste like that. It was little bit crispy at the outside, but it still soft at the inside. It's not too dried at all. They also seasoned it very well and it's really tasty. No matter how long the layover time, this place is a must for us when we're at Suvarnabhumi Airport.

    You must be familiar with this burger. Who doesn't know Burger King? You can find it in every country. So why do I want to eat it at Bangkok? The reason is because it has "pork" options for the meat and it's really delicious. Believe it or not, it also something that we must it when having a transit at Suvarnabhumi Airport. But this time, we tried to order a new dish which is a Taro with Corn Pie (THB 35). OMG! It was very very tasty. This pie has a hot melted creamy taro flavor as the filling, with some corn and it's a perfect combination. It's really something that you must try when in Thailand, because you'll never get it in any Burger King in other countries.

    It was the end of our culinary trip in Bangkok. Actually, before we went to Bangkok, we had a lot of lists about food that we wanted try. However because of Covid 19 (which made us worry all the time) and Ivan also wasn't feeling well at that time, we couldn't complete it. But that's fine. Everything we had during this trip, has fulfill our desire for food in Bangkok. Bangkok, we love you.. Once this pandemic is over, we'll be back with our children, for sure....

What to eat in Bangkok - Part 3

Thank you for read my previous posts about "What to eat in Bangkok". As I was saying before, I made this topic into 3 parts which each part is for each day in Bangkok. This blog post is the third part and it's gonna be a long story because we were eating a lot at this day. Besides, we also move to another hotel which not located at Pratunam and we found something good at this area. 

Day 3

On Lok Yun

    What I love by visiting one place is going to local place and looking for a popular place to eat. A tourist spot also has a famous yet delicious food, but sometimes local place has something different and it's worth to try. It was the third day and we had no idea what to eat for breakfast around the hotel area. One thing that we didn't want to do while traveling is eat the same food more than once. We might found some good place nearby for breakfast such as Go Ang Chicken Rice or Kuang Heng Chicken Rice, but we wanted to try another food when in Bangkok. So we're searching about a good place for breakfast in Bangkok, and this place came up in every page - On Lok Yun.

On Lok Yun is not located at Pratunam area, so we ordered Grab and it took around 20 minutes to reach there. It's just a small place at the street side and it looks very old. FYI, this traditional coffee shop has been there for almost 80 years, and it's still popular until now among locals and tourists. However since I was there during pandemic, there's no tourist at all. I only spotted some elder, and also some locals wearing formal clothes. It looks like their having breakfast here before go to the office. 

Hot milk tea - THB 22 and free hot tea

They don't have many options for the menu, but they're all enough for breakfast. A toast bread and a western style breakfast set are the bestseller, so we ordered each of them. And one thing that we never forget to order in Bangkok, cha yen (thai tea) - and of course it's the hot one because it's for morning breakfast. 

Let's start from the western style breakfast (THB 55). At this plate there are pork sausage, bacon, chinese sausage (lap cheong), and 2 eggs. You can choose how the eggs gonna be cooked, and we chose scrambled. It might looks simple and nothing special, but it was delicious. We love the bacon which is very thin and crispy, and also the pork sausage which is very tasty. But what we love the most is the chinese sausage. We've tried many kind of chinese sausage but this one is the best. And it's something that you can't get in any western - style breakfast menu.

Toast bread with butter and sugar - THB 23

Next is a toast bread with sugar on top. Little bit crispy at the outside part, mixed with the sugar, it's really good. Beside a toast bread, we also order egg custard bread with kaya (THB 28). Basically it's a steamed soft white bread that comes with kaya as a dipping sauce. The bread was really soft and the kaya was also good. 

Haidilao Hot Pot

    When we talked about hot pot restaurant, there's one name that people would think about - it's Haidilao. Haidilao is a hot pot restaurant that comes from China. This place is really popular for hot pot lover. Not only because their delicious food, but also their service. Their service is the best. Even though you haven't come inside the restaurant and still queueing, they'll provide snacks and drinks for you. We've tried this restaurant while we were at Kuala Lumpur, and we really love it. So when we knew Haidilao has an outlet in Bangkok (precisely at Central World shopping mall), we didn't want to missed it.

Pork bone soup and Tomato soup at Haidilao Hot Pot

We came for lunch, and there was no queue (another advantage to travel during pandemic. LOL!) However, almost every table filled with guests. They have many variant for the soup, and we chose 2 types which is our favorite - Tomato soup and pork bone soup. Not forgetting the bean curd roll which is really good after dipped at the soup. It's all taste exactly the same with the one we had before. The price was also quite affordable this high quality restaurant. Unfortunately they don't have a fresh live tiger prawn like we had at Kuala Lumpur. But overall it's worth it to have this hot pot dish when in Bangkok 

Fire Tiger

   

Fire Tiger Milk - Central World, Bangkok

    We wouldn't missed any day without trying a new boba drink in Bangkok. After having lunch, we're looking for boba drink at the same shopping mall and we found - Fire Tiger. Fire Tiger is a brand for boba drink which originally from Bangkok. This boba drink has a unique concept, where the pick up point is from tiger's mouth. It becomes a mandatory for everyone to try this drink when in Bangkok, especially if you're a boba addict. I ordered their bestseller which is "Fire Tiger Milk" (THB 150). It's the most expensive boba drink I ever had, but it's also the best. It has a strong taste of brown sugar, the boba also very good. One thing that make it special is beside boba, it also has jelly for the topping which also delicious.

[Grab Food] Moo Tong Congee

    At the afternoon, we moved another hotel which located at Sathorn (near river area). By chance we started to hungry but feel lazy to go out because we just arrived. Well, it's the perfect time to order Grab Food. New place, must be there's something new to try around this place. At the moment I was craving for something warm such as porridge, and I looked that there's one place, very recommended for pork porridge. It doesn't have any English name so we couldn't find out about the review of this place on google maps or instagram. We just trust what's written at Grab application. After looked at the menu, we ordered their bestseller menu - pork porridge and chicken rice (again! We love chicken rice :P)

Hainanese chicken rice - THB 50

    It wasn't took a long time until the food has arrived. Once I opened the plastic, the smell of its broth came out from the porridge. It was really good as well as the taste. The thickness of the porridge was just perfect. It has pork meatball inside which is very tasty, and also have some onion leaves and ginger as the garnish. Beware!! Ginger in Thailand has a very strong taste. I just put a little bit ginger but it was very spicy. But it's perfect to warmed up my stomach. The chicken rice was also delicious. We ordered the combination of boiled and fried chicken as the toppings, and both are so tasty. Somehow we felt it's more delicious than other chicken rice that we ate before. 

Pork Porridge - THB 35

    Feeling satisfied with all the food, I started to match the location between the map at Grab application and Google Maps. And we found the name of this place. Surprisingly, this place has many good reviews and it's also quite popular. If you're looking for this place at Google Maps, just type "Moo Tong Congee". Another good news, it opened 24 hours. So you can order it anytime you want.

Sooksiam

    After took a rest, we decided to go to a new shopping mall nearby called Iconsiam. What makes us visiting this mall is there's a food court with floating market concept. It's called Sooksiam. At this place, there are many variety of Thai street food and that's what we're looking for. I realized that street food will taste good if we eat the original version which sold at the street side. However because of Coronavirus, I was afraid to go to traditional market and tried their street food because of hygiene reason. So here we are, at the Sooksiam, looking for something good to try.

Chocolate Banana Crepe and Mango Sticky Rice at Sooksiam

    Since it was already night, we're not looking for a "heavy meal". We're looking for a light dish and durian. Yup, we're durian lover and we couldn't hold ourselves looking at the "fat", yellow durian in Bangkok. After looking around, finally we found a stall who sells crepe, and in front of it there's a place selling mango sticky rice. I just realized we haven't eat this popular food since the first day, so those became our choice. The mango sticker was really tasty, as I was expecting. Neither the crepe which is freshly made when you order. We ordered banana and chocolate flavor crepe and it's the best combo ever. However we were disappointed with "the looking good" durian. Even though it has a lot of "meat", but it was really bland. I felt cheated by paying expensive for durian taste like this.

(Sorry we forgot to take picture of the durian. But if you want to have a good durian in Bangkok, I think you need to do a search first and not buy it at random place.)
